Luckily, Verve had the good sense to make the southern beauty their cover girl for their March issue. Asin signs an international project

Just a few days after Deepika floored her fans with her Kung Fu skills in CC2C, Ghajini fame Asin is gearing up to master an ancient form of Martial art for her forthcoming film 19th Step. Apart from shooting London Dreams Asin is also busy learning Kalaripayattu.

Asin has been signed for an international project opposite Kamal Haasan. It’s going to be her second film with the superstar after Dashavataram. Reportedly, the film also stars Japanese star Tadanobu Asano in the lead.
Asin confirmed the news. She said “Yes, I have been signed for this International project called 19th Step and it’s not an action thriller, it is more of a periodic drama. I can’t talk more about the film as it is too early to reveal about it.”

According to an industry insider Asin will be seen in the role of a warrior princess thus she has been trained in the ancient art. It is based on the theme of the origin of Martial Arts in Kerala.

Asin and Kamal Haasan play lead roles in safeguarding these Martial Arts of Kerala while Japanese actor Asano plays a blood thirsty Samurai Kenji seeking to conquer the ancient Indian Martial Arts forms of Kalaripayattu (ancient form of Karate). Interestingly he learns the tough 18 steps and masters the 19th step from an Indian guru played by Kamal Haasan while Asin plays a local princess.

It is believed that 19th Step will be directed by Bharath Bala. It is produced as a co-venture by Bharath Bala Productions and Walt Disney. Unfortunately, it will not be released in Hindi. It will be released in three languages English, Japanese and Tamil. “I will start shooting for it as soon I finish London Dreams.”

Asin’s secret wish came true !

Just like any other girl Ghajini fame Asin always desired that her dream lover to propose her at Eiffel Tower in Paris. Apparently her dream came true when her director Vipul Shah incorporated such scene in London dreams.

This southern beauty is all claims to be single and not ready to mingle. Interestingly Asin is Filmfare’s Valentine special cover girl. When we asked this cover girl about the Eiffel Tower scene which Vipul got incorporated for her in London Dreams. Aisn corrects, “Sorry to disappoint everybody. The proposal scene in front of the Eiffel Tower was director Vipul Shah’s idea. It is not because I had a desire somebody to propose me but it was completely his idea.”

She continues, “He got that scene incorporated because it was a part of the story and Paris being a romantic city; it was thought that the scene would look good there.” Speaking about special person in her life she says, “The only man in my life currently is my dad, who handles my career. I have never had a boyfriend.”

Asin follows Katrina Kaif's footsteps

After the success of Asin's Hindi debut 'Ghajini' the southern star is looking forward to 'London Dreams'. Interestingly her chemistry with her co-star Salman Khan is the talk of the town.

Talks had it that Salman and Asin have got along so well with each other that it has made Katrina a little insecure, which is why she landed up on the sets of 'London Dreams' in Chandigarh.

Apart from this Sallu connection – sizzling chemistry and all, we've heard that her character in 'London Dreams' is similar to that of Katrina's in 'Yuvvraj'. 'London Dreams' is about a rock band in England. Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan, play childhood friends in the movie who are rock musicians.

So while Katrina played the cello in 'Yuvvraaj', Asin will play the guitar in this film. And as Asin and Kat seem to be on the same 'song sheet', the newbie on the block – Asin that is, is on one helluva 'high note'! Source : TOI

Ghajini girl Asin looking True Love

Ghajini girl Asin may have found success, but she is still searching for love. She is a beautiful 23-year-old actress and yet, love has somehow eluded her. When asked if she has a boyfriend, Asin says she has never fallen in love with anyone. "No, I don't have any boyfriend right now. In fact I haven't fallen in love till now. So I was never engaged to anyone in the past," she said.

So what about the present? "Of course, I am searching. But it's not like I am leaving all my work behind to search for love. It's good if I get someone of my choice while moving ahead in my career. Work is my first and foremost priority. Everything else comes later," she replies.

When it comes to choosing a boyfriend Asin says that she doesn't have any preconceived notions about his look, profession or family background. "I am quite open in this regard. I don't have anything very rigid or fixed in my mind. I really am like the girl I play in Ghajini," she said.

She feels lucky to be among the very few actress who got success so early in their career. "I am fortunate to get an opportunity to work with Aamir in my first film. My next film London Dreams is yet another big project."

With big films, she has become a hot favourite of the gossip column too. According to rumor mongers she has already started acting very pricey and throwing tantrums to the people around her. Asin, however, has denied all that. At the moment she is shooting for London Dreams opposite Ajay Devgan and Salman Khan.

Currently, Asin is living in the glory of Ghajini which is one of the biggest hits of 2008. Money and films have started pouring in post Ghajini, but as someone rightly said, money can't buy you love.
