Soha Ali Khan salutes Mumbai's spirit in Mumbai Meri Jaan

Soha Ali Khan will soon be seen playing the role of a journalist in her forthcoming film Mumbai Meri Jaan, which is based on the series of blasts that rocked Mumbai's trains in July 2006.

And the actress is all set to fight terrorism in real life too as she flagged off a signature campaign with bureaucrats and socials workers in Mumbai.

“The film is essentially inspired by the train blast that happened in 2006. It’s Nishikant's (director) version. The story takes a close look at the aftermath of the train blast and how the five characters in the movie are affected by it,” Soha explained.

The film’s director Nishikant Kamat said that given their film’s theme, they had to be a part of the anti-terrorism campaign.

“This synergy is so evident. When we came to know about the campaign we said we have to be a part of it, since our film deals with all that and it’s so similar,” he said.

With actors like Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon and Irfan Khan, Mumbai Meri Jaan is an attempt to bridge alternative cinema with the popular.

“Mumbai Meri Jaan, I believe, is one of those films which tries to send across a message in an entertaining manner. It is not a preachy film,” Soha said. Source : IBNLive
